SCHMIDT cooperates with ARKAS on Bulk Logistics
SCHMIDT has started to cooperate extensively with Messrs. ARKAS, one of the leading
forwarders in Turkey.
In line with Karl Schmidt’s business objectives, this cooperation will develop bulk transports into Turkey, especially the rapidly increasing imports from the Middle East. In addition to handling
container transportation, the partners are now providing comprehensive service in warehouse logistics and distribution.
ARKAS, like SCHMIDT, is an owner-managed enterprise offering a wide range of services. Apart from the
basic transport business, its core business and activities are the representation of reputable ocean carriers, operating port terminals at different locations as well as operating HUBs and warehouse terminals with an overall total indoor
floor space of 60,000 m².
ARKAS employs a staff of about 5,000 at 36 locations and operates its own fleet of 23 container ships with a container capacity of 55,000 TEU, deployed in the Mediterranean and the Black Sea.
Both partners have been cooperating in the transport industry for several years now and expect this cooperation to raise their market share in this dynamic-growth market above the average.
