Less Accidents at Work
By continuously implementing internal optimization
measures, work accidents within the SCHMIDT group could be further reduced in 2009. This continuous decrease over the last years is clearly obvious: The 1000-employee quota has decreased by 7.4 % compared to the previous year.
Compared to 2006 the 1000-employee quota ranged 39 % above the actual rate.
Our safety management trains and instructs the SCHMIDT personnel on all
safety-relevant issues. Moreover, possible hazard sources such as originating from the SCHMIDT mainenance and repair shops are being detected by screening the premises whereby
possible defects are being eliminated. Ultimately, specific investments into safety at work for vehicles as well as for the equipment of our employees are contributing to consequently reduce job-related accidents.
Compared to
the BG Verkehr (Berufsgenossenschaft für Transport und Verkehrswirtschaft) benchmark, SCHMIDT ranges 25 % below the industry’s average rate.
