In 1983, European Bulk Transport Ltd. (E.B.T.), a 100% SCHMIDT Group-owned subsidiary, was established in Dover, the gateway for U.K./European international traffic.
Most road tankers sent to the U.K. arrived by ferry at the Port of Dover, where E.B.T. organised customs clearance. E.B.T. established a large U.K. fleet and acquired, as another fundamental task, loads to continental Europe which, today, has been extended to include the effecting of domestic transport movements.
