After a rapid planning process, another SCHMIDT silo battery has been erected in Hamm-Uentrop, Germany, in June, 2003.
This facility began its operations in November, 2003. The silo battery comprises 12 aluminum silos with a
capacity of 240 m³ each, and is exclusively used for the storage of bulk granule products for the customer DuBay.
DuBay was founded as a joint-venture between the chemical producers DuPont and Lanxess (formerly Bayer).
PBT
granules are conveyed directly from the production line into the silo battery through a pneumatic system. After storage, the products are loaded in road tanker vehicles or bulk containers for onward transportation.
