Erected in several stages between 1996 and 2000, the SCHMIDT silo battery complex is situated within the Invista production plant and in the meantime comprises 24 units.
The first section of 12 units was already completed in 1997.
This SCHMIDT facility is exclusively operated for the production company.
PET granules are conveyed by a special pneumatic system through three different pipelines directly into the silo units for storage. The the total storage
capacity of the silo battery results of 16 units with a capacity of 400 m³ each and 8 units with a capacity of 600 m³ each.
SCHMIDT is supplying all logistics at this facility. The PET product is either bagged in BigBags or directly
loaded in road tankers for onward transportation.
